Jims was founded in late 2015 and occupies a fully restored two-bedroom apartment in Logan Square, the creme de la creme of creatively gentrifying neighborhoods in Chicago. Members of Jims have access to an exclusive living room, one private bedroom and a backyard patio. Our environment is one that enriches your mind with Instagram-friendly settings that members can not only relish and revel in, but recharge and broaden their influence as a result.
Weathered furniture. Flea market finds. Gallery wall on gallery wall of mismatched frames, each featuring work from a local artiste. In addition to such welcoming design elements, Jims offers a refrigerator stocked with milk and a rotating selection of cheese singles. Bring your own bread and fix yourself a meal, or we'll do it for you. The kitchen also offers state-of-the-art appliances like a waffle iron and a Keurig, as well as a dedicated roommate who smokes Moroccan hash and washes all the dishes.
If you like vintage armchairs, our sunny living room is perfect for you. It is easily the best place in the apartment for meetings, working, eating, drinking and staring. This room is also home to our monthly event programming for our members, which includes screenings, discussions, workshops and overcrowded holiday parties.
The Patio is a space for drinking and relaxing with views of our neighbors, a shy Latino family who, fingers crossed, we hope to see live another year in the neighborhood. There is a wooden table outfitted with an umbrella and ashtray, and an intimate bespoke outhouse where you can do drugs in peace. The side gate leads to a 60-foot gangway that's not only perfect for moody photo shoots, but also acts as a bike-in-bike-out entry into the apartment.
